ALROSA sells diamonds worth $14.8 mln through auctions

MOSCOW, May 3 (PRIME) -- Russian diamond mining giant ALROSA has raised U.S. $14.8 million from the sales of 10.8 carats worth of diamonds at auctions in Vladivostok from April 16 through April 27, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

“We’ve invited 86 companies from main regions of trade in rough and polished diamonds to participate in the auction, including companies from Hong Kong, Israel, India, and Belgium; 33 companies were announced winners on several positions. The trade showed good results that confirmed high demand for diamonds of this size category,” the company said citing Yevgeny Agureyev, head of United Selling Organization (USO) of ALROSA.

ALROSA’s sales company sold 101 diamonds with the total weight of 1,751.1 carats.
